Dinner @ Indoor Stadium Jumbo

Dad gave a treat last saturday @ Indoor Stadium Jumbo. Been a long time since I went there. Used to chill out @ Cosy Bay years back but now it's gone.

Anyway, not sure why suddenly Master Chua got fever again ... Prob I fed him with to much fried food recently.. What a mistake ...

Here's the usual happy little Xavier. He can remain as happy even when he is sick.

But of course he does fuss a bit during the dinner to go for walks. Waiting eagerly for the dishes to come. Xav: I can't wait to feast !!

One with mummy ... ...

Dun play play .. I also had crabs okay ... ... heee ... This little fellow here, wore the apron and pulled it behind him and became a "Superman in white" !!

Catch Edna sucking her thumb in style !! She did it so discretly, covering up while she sucked !!

Here's Xavier kor kor with Edna Mei Mei ...

Xavier had a slightly late night that day ... And he knocked out at 10pm after his bath.

I'm a fan of chix mid wing, esp bbq ones.. slurrp.. Been looking @ that yummy looking pic from this BLOG, and had decided to try this dish out today. It's slightly sweet with a bit of tangy
taste. Dear dear and I snapped up all the 25 mid wings for lunch.

2. 2 cans of Coke
3. 2 Lemons
4. 20 to 24 chix mid wings

Marination:

1. 2 table spoon chinese cooking wine
2. 2 table spoon soy sauce
3. A little pepper
4. Minced Garlic

Method:
1. Marinate the wings for 30 mins.
2. Pan fried till both sides becomes golden brown.

3. Pour coke over and add some salt.
4. Lower the fire to simmer.

5. When it's about to dry, add in the lemon juice (1 lemon) and lemon slices (half a lemon)

Back in school !!!

After having been absent from school for 7 days, 9 days if you wanna include the weekend, Xavier is back in school.I was surprised ! He did not even make any noise nor cry when I handed him over to the teacher. Initially, I was so worried that he could not get used to the school again after the long break. Xavier proved me wrong ! Well Done, Son ! heee ...

On tuesday, one day before he went back to school, brought Xav to Vivocity for a walk with Jo and Edna.

He always loves to play "catching" with me by running underneath the gigantic display.

Tea time next !! Having @ secret recipe, and Xavier had his fair share, eating both chocolate banana and at the same time eyeing at Jo's Blueberry cheese !!! Greedy Xavier !!!

This time round is Edna's time !! heee .. Here's lil' Edna having her swim !

while Xav's played with the machine outside while waiting for his lil cousin.

The next day, met up with Jo again... heee .. That's how privilege when I'm not working but yet have to look for one heh..

Here's lil white riding hood !!

Then, I went to pick Xavier up and rejoined the gals at Tampines One.

Here's helpful Xavier, trying to help yiyi push the pram. But poor Jo has to look after two instead of one .. hee .. Here's super Jo .. hahahhaa

and Xavier trying to be funny @ Tea Dot, playing peek-a-boo

And yet again.. He helped himself to the slice of blueberry cheese at Carls' Junior after his bowl of porridge! He had some fries as well !

After that, he had more food @ Sushi Tei when dear dear came to join us for dinner ! Isn't he a cow ... was wondering if there is any spurt grow at this stage ... ?

No school for one week !!

Well, one week on medical leaves meant no school for Xavier ! Suddenly, he loves to bring us one of his storybooks and tries to tell us to read to him, by giving us the book. After I read a page to him, he will go and find daddy and asks daddy to read to him and then come back to me again. Not sure what he is trying to show by this, but I'm glad that now he is more willing to allow us to read books to him.

I guess he enjoys the stay at home as much but the poor boy I think got to adjust himself to school life again after the one week. But has decided to keep him with me for two more days before he returns to the CC on wed, just to make sure he is really clear so that he won't spread to others.

Anyway, he has totally recovered and is eating like a cow !! Caught him messy after eating the black sesame dessert. Please pardon the blur pics as they were taken using my mobile phone. My camera is turning it's back on me !!

Even though his meals intake were as per normal even when he was down with the fever and ulcer in the throat.

During this one week, he gave us some surprises on his increasing vocab ! While mummy, me, at the same time, managed to spend some time to prepare some tea for him.

He seems to like bread recently after I bought him the cranberry bread. Alright !! Finally, my tools can come into use !

I prepare some mickey mouse shape bread for him rather than giving him the whole slice and he just goes tearing them up.

Today, I made him a combination of Pooh bear, Tigger and Mickey Mouse. He sure likes that and keep on eyeing at the lunch box !

After I cut out the shapes for him, dear dear and I ate the remaining.

I poured in the egg mixture into the "moulds" in the bread.

After which, spread some butter and sprinkle a little sugar on top. And there's our breakfast !

He did not only get to try this. Today, I took out the toy set dear dear got for me. It works as a bread cutter as well as a bread sealer, that can actually seal the fillings within the sandwich. Not very nice looking for the first attempt. But still managed to get a rough idea of how the outcome is.

Have prepared some egg mayo fillings... ...

Here's cheeky bear done by me.

Here's piggydon chef @ work ...

The outcome is ... piggy bread !!

On Tuesday, we brought him to Dr Ong for a consultation. When he was there, he went to the little table with the bead chaser and two small chairs. Suddenly, he pulled out the chair and said "sit". He repeated "sit" whenever he wanted to.

At home, during meal times, make a guess what he would do ? He actually walks right into the kitchen, pulled out the wooden ratten chair, which I normally allowed him to sit on and said "sit" and would expect us to carry him onto the chair for his meal.

This is his way of telling us that he is hungry, which I had discovered just today. At 3 pm, normally I will give him tea time. Some snacks or bread. Today, I think he was hungry, at about 3.10 pm, he went into the kitchen and "sit", "sit", came from him and he went on to display signs of him wanting to eat.

And yes, when he sees Bird, he can pronouced "Bird" ! He knows what it is and now he knows how to pronouce it.

Followed by, he understands what is "turn around". Whenever, I sang "Teddy bear, teddy bear turn around ... " He will make a few turns !

Next surprise was, when he was watching YBCR VCD, he was just at the door. The word "Smell" came on the screen but before the pronouciation came on, he started to show me how he "smell" by sniffing !

And guess what when it comes to songs. When "Ten Little indians" is shown on "The Wheels on the bus", before the song starts, he will act like the "Red Indian" and goes oooohh by using his fists against his mouth.

There is this Tumble Tots cd. When the song "Shake my sillies" was played, he will pretend to "yawn" when it comes to the yawning part !! heee... Silly Xavier ! I have been teaching him the actions whenever I sang with him. Finally, I see results and I hope to receive more surprises from him !

Mummy's turn ... ...

Right on Monday .. Not sure if it's Xavier's bug or I simply just caught a chill when I was returning from marketing when I suddenly felt the cold wind blowing.

Followed by a high fever during the dinner which last through the night despite having taken 2 dosage of the panadol. Fever did not subside but ended up with a swollen right eye due to medication allergies.

Was so paranoid as after the doc's visit, I was told to monitor for any development of rashes. All symptoms such as giddiness, high fever, vomitting and sore throat came except for the rashes. Initially, I thought that Xav has passed me his bug. Who knows, my sore throat worsen, it was so painful that I could not even eat my meals.

Went to doctor again and this time, was diagnose as Tonsillitis. It has been years ago since my tonsils act up. What luck. Till now, I can only eat porridge. Even when I'm not talking, just breathing alone can hurt my throat.

And you know, when I'm sick, I always crave for things that I cannot eat !! Anyway, been eating ice-cream almost everyday to soothe my poor throat... ...

Hopefully, by the time I finish my course of antibiotics, the pain disappears ..

HFMD

It's like out of the blue ! On sunday morning, when I fed Xav his breakfast, I did not noticed anything amissed as he finished his cereal in his usual 20 mins duration. But I felt that his little hands were rather "warm", warmer than the usual.

For the past few days, I noticed his fluid intake is much lesser than the norm. I should have been more sensitive to it because normally his fluid intake is quite alot during the day time.

Furthermore, whenever he sees milk, it is very, very, unlikely that he is not interested in it. These two days were like ... keeps me wondering, when did he started to dislike milk ?!

I measured his temperature and was kind of surprised to see 38.2 degree! Immediately, I fed him paracetamol. But the fever did not went down. It was like lurking around and getting higher and higher.

Xavier can still play and ate up his lunch ! Not much fuss from him. I took the noon nap with him but fever came up to 39 deg @ 4pm. Fed him with neurofen. Fever still did not went down until 8pm. I fed him with another dosage of paractamol again.

I was kind of worried as normally his fever will go down after taking neurofen or paracetamol but not this time. As such, had decided to bring him to TMC 24 hr walk in clinic with the accompany of Jo and mum.

Apparently, Xav has not forgotten the previous stay he had in TMC. He still remember the uniform worn by the nurses and the doctor's mask !

He screamed and cried when the doctor tried to examine him, refusing to be examined.
Nevertheless, the doctor saw ulcers at the back of his mouth and diagnose as viral infection. Not by airborne this time but through contact by hand and putting into his mouth !

Was told by doc that I can give Xav some ice cream and cold fluid to soothe his throat.

After we went home, surprisingly, Xavier did not have anymore fever till the next day. But I saw some blisters forming on the inner thighs and some other areas on his legs.

I was like started to suspect that it could be HFMD, because the spots did not appear on sunday.

Brought him to Dr Ong on Tuesday to reassure myself. Indeed, Dr Ong confirm it to be the A type HFMD, not exactly HFMD but the cousin of HMFD, more to the mild side, not the typical serious type.

So my guess was right about it ! No school for Xavier for one week and we shall be grounded at home !

@ Changi Airport T3

On Friday, I went to pick up Xavier earlier than normal from school, so that I can bring him along to T3 to send the Chewys off. While waiting for him to wake from his nap, had waited downstairs. The kids there are rather cute though. I showed them a video clip of Xavier destroying the blocks which I built up and they had a nice time laughing. (To view, please click HERE)

One of the bigger kid, Jayden, had liked Xavier so much that he can tell me "Xavier is so cute. He is the youngest baby here. I like him so much !" and he had, on several occasions played with Xavier. Managed to take a group pic of them.

Observing how they danced to the music can be quite amusing ! You'd never know how or who taught them to dance ! They just simply love it and dance themselves away!

Finally, Xavier woke @ 3pm. Luckily, we still made it in time to reach T3 before they check in ! YEAH !!!

After that, brought him to sit down on one of the chairs for his tea break. Had prepared cranberry bread from Four leaves for him.

He likes it and can eat up to 3 slices !

and you know, it's finger licking good !!

Would you like to share with me ? hee hee

One very bad habit of Xavier is, he likes to stuff his mouth full !!

Of course not forgetting to bring him for a round of bouncing session !

Am glad that his stranger anxiety has got much much better ! In terms of strangers, he is no longer afraid of them ! Once @ Bugis junction @ the babies play area, he can run up to one uncle and ask him to carry him !!! Anyway, he was so happy when the big jiejie and kor kor came bouncing towards him !

Xav: Jie jie, come !! I give you my bear hug !

and he went back to bouce himself till he went lying down !

Surprisingly, he did not cry and refused to leave as compared to the previous time we brought him there. HE was so cooperative. so now you see, we think he's super nottie when daddy is around !

We went to join the old folks, Jo and gang for dinner @ Kembangan and went back for an early night.
