Act 3 ~ Lesson 5 & 6

Lesson 5 covered Incey Wincey Spider through songs and dance. The todds were taught UP & DOWN as well as emotions like happy and sad.

Xavier was particularly friendly to all the parents that day as he went around wanting to hug them and best part was he went behind their back and wanted them to piggy ride him !!!

Lesson 6 covered the same emotions as well as they believed in repetition. Here's Xav dancing to the usual song.

And recently, not knowing why, he likes to crawl !!! But pretty bad attention he had that day. he was walking around during story telling them !!

Today, the kids made their own clock

and rhyme for the day is "Hickery Dickery Dock"

Busy Xavier working on his clock.

But he was like as if staying in his own world during the story telling time. He only sat down for a short moment and ran off !!!

Hope that he can do better the next lesson !

"Mui Fan"

If you have placed orders for the above from those "zhi cha" store. This is infact, meat and vegetables stirred fried with gravy and pour over the rice when served.

I realised Xav needs soup whenever he eats rice. Infact he loves soup !

This "mui fan" is taught to me by Jo. Easy to cook and Xav can eat this up with no issues if there is no soup.

Just stir fry the vegetables and meat, add in water, bring to boil, beat and add in an egg and add a little cornstarch to thicken the gravy! There you go !

Julia Gabriel Playclub ~ Trial

Today was Xavier's trial class at Julia Gabriel (Forum).

Timing is from 11.30am to 1.30pm, so I had to feed him early lunch at 10.45am instead of the usual 11.30pm.

This was how it goes... Freeplay while waiting for the rest of the classmates to arrive.

I did not know that today's theme was actually "red". But somehow coincidentally, I have dressed Xav up in a red shirt. At least it's not bad right, he still managed to blend into the theme.

"Time to deposit your name card into the post box !!"

Crafts is next after names were called. Today, the kids were taught to paint by using ice cubes and also using paint that is in powder form. Interesting heh !

And painting his very own lantern !

Adding in the sequins and red shiny glitters !

After which, it's snack time ! Kids are taught to say more please and thank you ! Here's Xav enjoying the sausages and cornflakes!

And he learnt to put the empty plates onto the other tables with my help. Great job, Xavier !

It's outdoor fun next ! And Xav went for his favourite cars !! Makes me wonder if I should get him one for his birthday pressie this year ! Busy Xavier.... Beep beep !!! Make way !!

And the singing session comes in...

Observing how the teachers are dancing before he starts......

Got distracted halfway ...... As he still cannot forget about the cars out there!!

Back to the group and rejoined into the songs and dances.

Somehow I got a feeling that he enjoys himself more at Act 3 or prob he was simply just tired.

He knocked out after the class not long after and slept till 4.10 pm which he hardly can do it when he's out with me.

While he was sleeping, I went for my tea break at coffee club. And there he woke, with a bowl of creamy mushroom soup for him.

And look how he enjoyed my peach smoothie !!

Nice !!

Met daddy for a walk in Chinatown and we went for our dinner at Hongkong Cafe @ Citysquare.

This little nottie boy had no appetite for his dinner... Ended up having fun playing with his daddy's face !! Guess what has made him laughed so happily ???

A great hug from daddy !

And stealing some treats from our tea... Aloe Vera !!

Shiokness ......

Ended the day with daddy putting him to zzzzz and get ready for the drama class tomorrow !! Mummy's off to bed too ! Oyasuminasai !

Letter A & phonics

To continue on with the Letter A activities I did with Xav and also to share when is the right age to start phonics. We can actually go into the introduction of phonics songs as early as 18 months old to 2 years old.

Till date, I have introduced the single letter sounds through songs and also providing Xavier with concrete materials beginning with letter sounds and a follow on craft project. For instance, I wrote on a piece of drawing paper "Asparagus", I will show him what asparagus looks like.

Then, I allow him to paint using the asparagus.

Indirectly, I introduced colours to him at the same time.

I showed him how two primary colours can be mixed to form a secondary colour.

Red + Yellow = Orange

Ultimately, he used his finger as he finds it more fun !

And soon it involves his fingers to his palm and eventually became a palm painting !

Trying to use the asparagus to paint his palm.

Making sure every corner is painted !!

Signs that Xavier told me that he is ready are mainly, he started to get songs stuck in his head and can sometimes sing to himself if I can "catch" him in the act and also he starts naming the objects he sees.

Flashcards is another way which I used to expose the words to him but bear in mind that it does not work for every kiddie. Work on what interests your child to escalate in his/ her learning.

To improve his motor skills, I have printed out an Alligator

an apple

as well as an Astronaut

to make into lacing cards for him to do lacing. Here's Xav trying his hands on the apple;

Each time he gets the string into the hole, he goes "wow" !!

The astronaut can be made into a photoframe too if you're creative enough... Heee

Just a bit off track, Xav discovered the magic of magnets !!! I thought why was he playing so quietly at my cupboard, and I saw this!

He was thrilled that the trains can hang from the door hinge !

More to come !! Getting higher as he goes !

This was his expression ! WOW !!!

Simple thrilled !!!

And he did something which I definately have to compliment him. I went over to him in the living room with the magic cleaner rod lying on the floor.

Guess what did he said to me ? Xav said "sorry" twice. I was wondering why does he has to say that ? And I saw the rod actually got dismentled into two parts and Xav was apologizing to me !! Doesn't he deserve a real good hug and kiss from me !!

From there, I know that my boy has grown and is starting to learn his little basic manners.....

Thank you for reading and if you would like to stay tune for future updates, do follow me on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram !
