Zoophonics Lesson 3 ~ May

Xav's back to classes ! Daddy has accompanied him for Lesson 2 and 3.

I couldn't pen down what was going on during lesson 2 as daddy did not take any pics ! He just told me that curious little Xav was walking round and round the classroom !

They did a craft on decorating the rabbit with white cotton wool after listening to the story of the Tortise and the Hare.

For Lesson 3, Xav came back with a cat which can also served as a rattle, with the beans wrapped in the half folded paper plate.

He made a tortise as well !

He sure likes the tortise ! And guess what was his reply when I asked him what he was holding. First reply was "sun" ! I believed he did it on purpose as he knew that it was a tortise !

Reason why he gave "sun" as the answer because if you overturned the paper plate, it looks kind of like a sun in a way ! And he gave me a second answer ... "tortise - sun"

Interesting ! How did he actually came up with that answer !

Deardear was telling me that Xav was actually "making sure" that all his classmates have returned the materials after every activities by going around and popping his head over to see if they have returned ! If he spotted some who are still holding on, he will "help" to return to the teacher himself !

And I am crossing my fingers here that Xav does not catch the bug from a few of his classmates and parents who are having cough and cold yet still present in class ! Hey peeps... please be more considerate ! Stay home if you are sick, but if you want to join in the class, please wear a mask !!!

On Mother's Day, received a little surprise from Xavier !

While waiting for our orders to come, he suddenly went "Monday (199), Tuesday (200), Wednesday (201), Thursday (202), Friday (203), Saturday (204), Sunday (205) "

Was a little surprise as I didn't went through this with me for quite sometime and I don't do this very often. The most recent I heard from deardear was in the last Zoophonics class, the teacher went through once with the kids and there he is !

Sometimes I will sing the nursery song that uses the same tune as "Clementine"

"There are 7 days (x2)
There are 7 days in a week
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and
Sunday"

And he made a new friend ! For unknown reason he was so attached to this bear (206).

Whenever, he doesn't want to sit in the carseat, I will tell him that bear bear ( which he names it) will be sitting with you and he willingly allow us to sit him in !

Xav sure have his way with me. He spotted two new sets of Melissa and Doug puzzles, one is an alphabet set while the other is a colour puzzle with coloured fishes.

He names me all the colours one by one correctly as he pointed to the fishes. I am certain that he knows all the colours by now. Black (207), white (208), blue (209), pink (210), orange, red, green (211) and brown (212).

Seeing this, I can't help but open up the puzzle for him but again this boy wanted the alphabet set as well. Guess what he did ? He sang the full "ABC song" for me

But am sorry son, not so soon ... But thumbs up for your effort though !

He learnt this recently:
Mummy: What is your name ?
Xav: Xavier
Sometimes he disturbs us by replying "Xavier Don" combining with Daddy's name !
Mummy: what is daddy's name ?
Xav: Don
Mummy: What is mummy's name ?
Xav: Serene
Mummy: How old are you ?
Xav: He fills in the blank ( mummy: I am , Xav: 2 , mummy : years old)

And he was feeling my ears one evening and he named it ear, followed by 耳朵, and earring (213) when he felt the earring. He saw me wearing my ring (214) and kept saying "wear ring" and asked for my ring!

These are the most recent books I got for him.

I did not managed to get the scholastic series on moral values. So I got these for him instead when I found them.

Got a lacing book for him as well !!

and I saw him lacing around with the book quietly on a few occasions !

Wonder why I can't load pics into the blog via my phone.... Horrible !!!! The pics are loaded by sending to my email from Iphone. Double job !!!

Almost Done !!!

It's almost done !! Getting more and more excited as the house is soon to be ready !

I got a shock when I saw the mirror. Found out that it was actually a communication breakdown betweent the ID and the contractor. He told the contractor to place the mirror 15 inches above the vanity top. But contractor heard wrongly and placed it 15 inches above the sink !!! They are gonna smash the mirror and redo the mirror.

With water !! The feel is different though from normal taps.. =P One word from dear dear was "shiok"

and dear's favourite shower rain ! Actually we had a disagreement over the design as I wanted the "Star rise" design badly as I set my eyes on it long time back but he prefers the round big one ! Eventually, I changed to this round big design to make him happy since he gave me this nice home !

The aircon units are up too.

The carpenter has also completed the divider for the pull out tray.

But he got to redo as I don't think this is acceptable. The dividers are too tight.

Painted the proposed study room with Angel Blue. But still pending which room is to be for Xavier.



Thats about it ! Just got the measurement done for the roller blinds.

The rest of the touch up will be done within this week and cleaning starts tomorrow by dear dear while it will be my turn when it comes to unpacking !

Xav's @ 25 months

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 !!!! This is what Xav can do without looking at the numbers !


His counting has increased to 30 from counting and recognising the numbers. But he is not prepared to learn the words though I wanted to print out and flash to him.

Probably I shall start after we move to Seng Kang as I'm pretty tied up with all the packing !

Recently, he told me "yee ah yee bao bao". I was like trying to figure it out what that means !
and guessed what ! It meant "piggy ride". I did not know until he kept repeating and finally went behind me and climb himself onto my back. That was when I realised what he meant. I tested him by asking him "Do you want yee ah yee bao bao " and he went straight on my back ! Bingo !

Finally, the boy is recovering well ! No more runny nose nor frequent sneezing and neither I hear any phlegmy sound from him. Hope he is recovering well. Got to know from Esther that Owen has been using the charcoal bolster for a few months and significantly, his nose allergy is not as bad as before.

Hence, she helped me get one bolster, big enough and Xav was definately more than happy to have a big bolster to hug to sleep. Hope the bolster works well on him too.

Xav's starting to associate things like train with tracks. Sometimes,imaginary runs and he will put his cars and starts running on the tracks as well. He tried to build something from the lego set and ran the structure with wheels on the tracks too ! Definately he is in love with the lego set ! Thanks Steph !

Here's Xav bringing over the gift to Justin. He insisted on carrying it for me. One of their milestones at this stage is they like to do things themselves ! Can you imagine the elavator with the conveying belt type with no steps. He was so sure of himself that he refused to let me hold him when walking onto it.


Can you imagine from the minute we reached home, he was supposed to go for his nap but he refused and kept wanting to open up the set. I told him "
okay Xav, you go and take your nap now and you'll get to play later when you wake". First thing after his nap, he ran straight to the living room and he sure remembers !!


He requested to open up and started to play for the longest time for once !


Think only lego can sustain his interests slightly longer. He was playing another lego set at mum's place before I went for my nap. After I woke up, he was still playing on his own !

And we took him to ECP just last sunday. This time round, no sand play but cycling ! I tried my turn today to cycle with him infront of him.


Not easy though I managed to cycle all the way to Big Splash. But change over to daddy as I am too tired to cycle back with Xav on my bike.. hahahaha ...

But it's fun ! I love it when he was laughing while we were on the ride. He learnt a new word "tent" when I pointed to the tents and show him what it was. Not sure why he found it funny when I told him that "the people are camping day and night" .. A simple and silly statement but this made him chuckled all the way ! Weird isn't !

But that cranky fellow insisted to sit on the bicycle without the child seat ! And simply refused to let us leave the place unless he is sitting on it !!



And he knocked out not long after we reached home.

To the beach again !!

We really enjoyed the morning trips to the beach ! Whenever the weather is good and we have the time, we will make a trip down to the beach !



Xav's turning to be a beach boy soon !


He is pretty good with building his cuppies now !

and starts counting them one by one !

Well, getting more adventurous.. trying to build near the water line !




and he picks up seashells and kept repeating "seashells" whenever he picks up one ! Too bad, couldn't find really nice ones @ ECP. Probably they have more at Siloso beach !




This time round was bad, Xav got a big mozzie bite behind his left knee, which kept him irritated for days ! It got swollen and red and poor boy was interrupted in his sleep at night due to the itch. Thank goodness, I managed to reduce the itch using salt water to apply on the area. Get better soon, Xav.

More carpentry up !

The carpentry for the living room, kitchen and master bedroom are more or less done. Left with the shower screen for the bathroom, the vanity top for the master bedroom bathroom, some touch up for the lighting and another coat of paint.

More or less, I guess, all would be done by next week.

We opt for a refreshing yellow for the shoe cabinet



and a different tone of yellow for the tv console

to differentiate the area. At first sight, we did not really like the colour of the console but after looking for a while, we find it acceptable though. Hence, we decided not to change it.

The kitchen is up ! But due to the space constraint, the kitchen only has two small cabinet to hold whatever we need to hold. We need to brainstorm for another storage space !!


Two pull out mini rack for the cooking oil, salt, sauces etc ..

These are the only two usable storage spaces.


The common bathroom door is done. We opted for acrylic white bi-fold door.

The grills are up too. Infact, I hate to have grills around the house. Makes me feel "locked up" but for safety aspects as there is a child in tbe house, better playsafe than sorry.

This is the mater bedroom wardrobe.

Configuration is done by ourselves after going around for some ideas.

This shall be shared between dear dear and me to hang attire that needs to be hang up. Think most likely, I be settling for the lower portion cos, I'm not tall enough .. hahaha

The extreme left compartment is longer for dresses. And the middle pull out is for either our watches or smaller garments like under garment, ties etc ..

Last but not least the sliding window for the service yard is done !!

Last shopping to be done are the the fixtures for the bathrooms and kitchen.

Air con units will be up by next week too ! Looking forward for the completion !
