Last Friday, 12th October 2018, marked a new milestone for One Faber Group with the launched of Arbora (an eponym for Latin word "Arbor", which refers to trees), a new hilltop garden dining you can experience, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The inspiration for this name is found in its distinguished location: Arbora is surrounded by Mount Faber Park- one of Singapore's earliest park which sprawls over 40 hectares of verdant treetops and home to a variety of flora and fauna.
Happiest annoucement to the kids, especially Xav was "let's keep the books away for today and go for a cable car ride"! Here's another reason to ditch your cars and go for a cable car ride!
This time, not into Sentosa Island but to this hilltop sanctuary located 100m above sea level and be greeted by the tranquility, the lush greenery of Mount Faber, majestic views of the rainforest hillside, Harbour Front and Sentosa Island which made up the picture-perfect skyline as the backdrop.
Vera found a bell which had her name among the many bells, what sharp eyes!
With the performance of @shiliandadi, their beautiful voices filled the alfresco space, just right beside the heart-shaped tree
and the Bell of Happiness, I was totally in love with the setting!
Isn't this venue perfect to have the lifetime vows exchanged? Even Vera could not help but danced to the tunes.
If you are wondering about the seating capacity, Arbora can seat up to a total of 160 guests: 40 indoors and 120 alfresco. You can alway check with them if you need a private booking.

Another instagrammable spot would be the 13 by 3-metre lush foliage feature wall that provides a visual anchor to the restaurant.

Kids entertained themselves with koi feeding right infront of the feature wall.
We were kept occupied during the event with activites such as planting your own seeds with @UrbanFarmandBarn
Pressed flower bookmark making with @senseofarts
and it was really great to meet social media friends in real person after seeing them on my social media feed all these while!

We got to taste some of the delectable dishes on Arbora's menu. Arbora offers an all-day dinning menu with 35 selections that includes delectable starters, entrees and desserts, created by Executive Chef Kenny Yeo. A local master chef with over three decades of culinary experience from stints at Le Centenaire, a Michelin 3-Star Hotel in France, and the French kitchen of JQ Concepts Pte Ltd in Taipei, Chef Kenny is also the one who inspired the European tapas menu at the successful Dusk Restaurant & Bar, a sister restaurant located on Faber Peak.
These are some other western favourites on the menu, I tried the smoked duck mushroom ragout, it tasted not too heavy (Jer-lak) nor oily, I went on for a second serving. So much so that, I did not have any picture of it as I was busy feeding myself.

I would love to try out The ultimate catch fisherman's stew in tomato-based seafood sauce, made up of delicious dish of lobster, slow-cooked tender abalone, scallops and squid coupled with a slice of garlic bread that comes with it on my next visit!

You can also expect some twists in Chef Kenny's creations: the Rack of Lam (S$36++) is served with homemade prune sauce instead of mint jelly.

For beverages, be spoilt for choices with the variety of fresh-press juices, craft beers (locally produced with no preservatives) to Botanical-inspired cocktails!
For the health conscious, the made-to-order fresh-pressed juices are available in three variations, all made with locally sourced ingredients. The Tropi-Kale (S$12++) features the superfood kale blended with a delicious mix of pineapple sweetness and green apple tartness, while Sun-kissed Quencher (S$12++) is served with fresh-cut watermelon cubes to bring a different mouthfeel to the thirst-quenching fruit. The Anti-Oxidant (S$12++) highlights beetroots's multi-nutritional contents, complemented by a refreshing hint of orange zest to balance the earthy flavours.
I loved the concotion of Botanic Zest, it was something different this time, concocted by a practiced hand in mixology, the Botanic Zest (S$15++) features juniper berries, young julienned ginger infused with honey mixed in Roku Gin.
while the Honey & Spice (S$15++) combines Pernod and triplle sec with wild honey, star anise and kaffir lime.
The botanical inspirations in all five curated Arbora cocktails (S$14 - S$19) are expressed in the thoughtful use of fruits, spices and condiment with spirits.

I will strongly recommend Arbora SG if you would like somewhere to chill out with family and friends or go on a romantic date.
