[Review] " Five Days of Christmas " Speech & Drama + Craft & Tell @ Bluetree Education

It's the season to be jolly ! Put away the books and we were indeed more than happy to be invited to jingle with Bluetree Education for their "5 days of Christmas" Holiday Programme !

The 5 days were soaked with Christmas theme related story-telling,

The kids' eyes were fixated on Teacher Liz's book

crafting with Teacher Diana, another activity well liked by all ! The children made the most adorable stuffed snowman you can ever find using socks. How I loved them ! Too adorable !

The children made themselves Towel reindeer wraps , as well as their antlers too !

Happy boys turned reindeers, Xav and  Isa with their towel reindeer wrap
Trying to cut out and piece the felts together.

The completed jolly felt elf  !
One of the craft amongst all that the kids can't take their eyes off upon completion, Snow globes !

The pretty, glittery snow globes !
Whose here for a visit?
I sticked the above up on my main door and I will be cutting out some foam snow flakes to create the snowy effect just right outside my unit.

The children had a ball of a time with the games played during the workshop which allowed them to comprehend and learnt new words through play.

Of course apart from the Christmas related activities that were going on, the children established new friendships,

the mixture of age 4 -6 years old children in a class do give the older kids an opportunity to look out and care for the younger ones.

Oh well, what's Christmas without Santa Claus ! Highlight of the workshop is to meet SANTA !

You bet how all the kids loved him !

Thankful Tuesday : A simple word of "Thanks"

The beginning of school holidays always marks the beginning of a busier period until school terms start.

I am so overwhelmed with everything that I hardly cook nowadays. Just yesterday, dear asked me if I will be cooking as he will be back for dinner. Maybe he did not mean it as such ? But to me, it seems like he missed my cooking and hinting me to cook. (I know probably it's pretty thick skin of me).

At the very last minute, I decided to just cook some pasta for dinner. Bought a baked chicken from Cold Storage and shredded it. I top it on top of the cooked pasta with cheese, mushroom and shredded chicken and threw all into the oven to melt that cheese.

Being a tomato sauce lover, dear would normally prefer the tomato based kind of pasta. Then again, I do not have enough pasta sauce to suffice for all. During dinner, he passed me a very frank feedback, the pasta don't taste nice. I would expect that because even I myself feel that it is not nice. (Note that I, myself did not finished my share)

Whilst washing up the dishes, he came up and said "Thank you for the dinner". I didn't show him my face but acknowledged with a silent nod. Deep down, my eyes were a little teary. Not because he told me that dinner was not nice, but this simple phrase that means so much, made me felt that my efforts were being appreciated, touched my heart. I would like to thank him for being my most supportive fan in my culinary journey. Regardless of whether the dishes are nice or no, he finished them all always. Thank you my dear.

What are you thankful for today ?

Ants -Be- Gone !

One thing that sure gets on my nerves is ants invasion in my kitchen. This happens when I'm not the one working in the kitchen or rather for that few days or a period, someone else took over my "territory" due to unforeseen circumstances.

Trouble comes when kitchen is not kept clean. Coming close to 5 years, the frequency of ants invasion in my place or rather to be more exact,  my kitchen is less than 5. To be exact, including this time is twice !

Firstly, I would go for the most natural method to bust the nest without having to use pesticides as the little ones are around. Ants "communicate" via scent trails. Using their antennae, they can perceive smells and determine the direction. When food is found, they will leave a trail leading back to the colony and the other ants would be using this trail to get to the source of food.

To conclude, we need to DESTROY their trails by MESSING UP their scent trails.

So what did I do using my Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil? Tell me how not to love PEPPERMINT !

This time round, it's ANTS - BE - GONE ! I was struggling with the constant pinching and wiping off the fast crawling ants on my kitchen top this one month until last week, I finally found their nest and decided to BUST it !

What I did was, I mixed 5 drops of Young Living PEPPERMINT eo into a 15ml spray bottle and top it up with some water.

I sprayed twice along the trail as well as into the their hiding place. Then, I dripped a drop neat on a cloth and wipe around the area where they were crawling along. The next morning, NO MORE ANTS appeared ! To make sure that the trail is completely destroyed, I continued for the next two days.

Other benefits of YL Peppermint EO;
- It can help to bring down running temperatures by applying on the spine and under the feet. You can drip a drop or two to sponge too !
- It helps to ease your heavy head when you feel the drums in it.
- It helps to ease nausea by inhaling it with a drop in your palm.
- It helps to improve concentration and mental activity, diffuse it when  the child is doing his/her work.
- It helps to cool you down when you are feeling the heat in the typical warm weather Singapore has, with a rub of peppermint behind your neck.
- Coffee or snacks cravings ? I would drip a drop and drink as peppermint tea ! It helps to curb the cravings and it aids in digestive issues too. Note: To use only glass or ceramic not plastic or Styrofoam cups.
- It can act as an mozzie repellent too !
